As part of our commitment to comprehensive neighborhood revitalization and economic development, Olneyville Housing Corporation, with generous support from the The Providence Plan, RI Housing Resources Commission, and Citizens Bank, launched the Olneyville Storefront Improvement Program in 2003. Through the program, one-to-one matching grants were given to commercial property owners who agreed to renovate their storefronts in accordance with design guidelines. Eleven storefronts in Olneyville Square were renovated in an effort to enhance the appearance of Olneyville’s commercial district, help businesses attract customers, and build neighborhood pride.
