Homebuyer and Landlord Training

Interested in buying a house?  Completing a homebuyer training course is the first step.  A Homebuyer and Landlord Training series is offered periodically in English and Spanish at OHC’s office.  Students learn everything they need to know to buy a home, including budgeting, managing credit, qualifying for a mortgage, home selection and maintenance.  Qualifying graduates of the program will be eligible for low interest rate mortgages and down payment and closing cost assistance.

In order to buy a home from OHC, you must also be a first-time homebuyer and meet income requirements.  Other eligibility guidelines may apply.

To register for these classes, call the Housing Network of RI at 521-1461.

Post-Purchase Classes

OHC also offers workshops for current homeowners in English and Spanish.  Topics include Home Repair and Maintenance, and Foreclosure Prevention.

Housing Counseling

OHC has a certified housing counselor on staff to advise homeowners and renters about a variety of housing-related issues.
