The Riverside Gateway Apartments is an initiative that created new affordable rental housing and two rehabilitated commercial units and brings community-controlled investment to an area that desperately needs it. It turned large vacant parcels of land that line the Riverside Mills site on the Woonasquatucket River in Olneyville into new two– and three-unit houses as well as renewed vacant, abandoned and underutilized two– and three-family properties near Manton Avenue into rehabilitated one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units.
The development is timed to complement and capitalize on several other major public investments nearby, including the Riverside Townhomes and Riverside Park, a 6 acre park constructed on the former site of Riverside Mills.
